The short version
- We collect what you give us, what our apps need to work, and basic usage and crash data.
- We use it to run and improve our services, reply to you and keep things safe.
- We don't sell your personal data, and we only track you across other companies' apps if you allow it.
- You can access or delete your data at any time, in the app or by emailing cesar@viralyster.com.
01Who we are and what this covers
Viralyster FZCO (“Viralyster”, “we”, “us”) is a development and marketing studio registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you:
- visit viralyster.com or contact us through it;
- download or use any mobile, desktop or web app we publish, including on the Apple App Store and Google Play (our “apps”);
- work with us as a client, partner or supplier.
Together, these are our “services”. We are the controller of the personal data described here. If an app shows its own privacy notice, that notice adds to this policy for that app. When we build or market an app for a client, the client’s privacy policy applies to that app’s users, and we handle their data only on the client’s instructions.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and project details: your name, email, company or website, and what you tell us about your project, budget and timeline when you use the Start a project form or email us.
- Account details: if an app lets you create an account, your name, email address and sign-in details. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive what that service shares with us, which may be a private relay email address.
- Content: text, prompts, photos, videos, audio and other files you add to an app, and the results the app creates for you.
- Messages: anything you send us when you ask for help, report a problem or leave feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system, language, app version, approximate location based on your IP address, and how you use features, such as screens viewed and actions taken.
- Diagnostics: crash reports, performance data and logs that help us find and fix problems.
- Identifiers: IP address, device or app instance identifiers and push notification tokens. We only access your device’s advertising identifier if you allow it (see section 6).
- Website data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser and pages requested. While you fill in the Start a project form, your answers are saved in your browser’s session storage so a reload doesn’t lose them; they are cleared when you send the form or close the tab. The website doesn’t use advertising cookies.
Information from others
- App stores: Apple and Google tell us about your purchases and subscriptions, such as the product, date, country and status. They process the payment, and we never receive your full card details.
- Partners: sign-in, analytics, attribution and advertising partners may share information with us, such as which ad or campaign led you to install an app.
Device permissions
Some features ask for access to your camera, photo library, microphone, location, contacts or notifications. We only ask when you use a feature that needs it and only use the access for that feature. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
03How we use information
- Provide, maintain and improve our services, including creating the results you ask an app for.
- Create and manage your account, process purchases and restore subscriptions.
- Reply to project inquiries, support requests and other messages.
- Send service messages, such as receipts, security notices and updates to our terms. With your permission, we may also send push notifications or marketing emails, which you can turn off at any time.
- Understand how our services are used, measure our marketing and fix bugs and crashes.
- Personalize content and features inside an app.
- Keep our services safe by preventing fraud, spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We don’t sell your personal data.
04AI features
Some of our apps use artificial intelligence to create or edit text, images, audio or video. When you use those features, what you submit, such as prompts, photos or recordings, is sent to the AI provider that powers the feature so it can return a result. We don’t use your content to train our own AI models without your permission. AI results can be inaccurate or unexpected, so review them before you rely on them.
06Cookies, analytics and tracking
Our website only uses the storage it needs to work. Our apps may use software kits for analytics, crash reporting and ad attribution.
On iOS, we only track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, or access your advertising identifier, if you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
07Legal bases
Where the law requires a legal basis for using personal data (for example in the EEA, UK and UAE), we rely on:
- Contract: to provide what you ask for, such as your account, purchases and app features.
- Consent: for device permissions, push notifications, marketing emails and tracking. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to run, secure and improve our services and reply to inquiries, where your rights don’t override those interests.
- Legal obligation: to keep records and comply with the law.
08International transfers
We’re based in the UAE, and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States and countries in the European Union. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use the safeguards applicable law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
09How long we keep information
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Accounts and content: while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal, tax, dispute or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are overwritten within a further 90 days.
- Content stored only on your device stays there and is removed when you delete the app.
- Project inquiries: while we’re discussing a project, and up to 24 months after our last contact unless we work together.
- Analytics and diagnostics: up to 24 months, or longer only in aggregated or de-identified form.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
10Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct data that’s inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- object to or restrict how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before;
- not be treated differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email cesar@viralyster.com. We’ll reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
You can also manage device permissions and notifications in your device settings, and unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any of them.
11Deleting your account and data
- In the app: if an app has accounts, you can delete yours inside the app, usually under Settings or Account.
- By email: write to cesar@viralyster.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my data” and the name of the app.
- Sign in with Apple: you can also stop using Sign in with Apple for an app on your iPhone in Settings > [your name] > Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple.
Deleting an app from your device doesn’t delete your account or cancel a subscription. You can manage subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
12Children
Our services aren’t directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age in your country (such as 16 in parts of the EEA), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
13Security
We protect personal data with technical and organizational measures, such as encryption in transit, access controls and carefully chosen providers. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we’ll notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
14Regional information
- United Arab Emirates: we handle personal data in line with applicable UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: you have the rights in section 10 and can complain to your local supervisory authority.
- California and other US states: in the last 12 months we may have collected identifiers, commercial information (purchases), internet or app activity, approximate location, audio and visual content you provide, and inferences from these, for the purposes in section 3. We don’t sell personal information and don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising without your consent. You can ask to know, correct or delete your information by emailing cesar@viralyster.com.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. We’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date, and if the changes are significant we’ll let you know in the app or by email.
