Woman Arrested For Calling Boyfriend More Than 27,000 Times In One Week
A woman in Alberta, Canada has been arrested by the Edmonton Police Service for one of the most extreme cases of stalking in the history of the country.
28 year old Kelly Murphy was known to have a history of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) before she had begun her relationship with her now Ex-Boyfriend, Randy Williams.
The two were said to only have been in a 2 week relationship before the split. Murphy was accused of using up to 8 phones at one time to call him 24 hours a day on his cell phone, at work, and on his home phone. She had not only sent him 937 emails, but called him 27,639 times a week, sent 11,229 text messages, 47 handwritten letters, and 117 sung messages.
Murphy was also said to have ingested excessively large quantities of amphetamines and energy drinks to stay awake and had gone a week without sleeping just so she could carry on contacting her ex.
J.D. James Kilroy, Randy’s lawyer, has stated: “My client is profoundly relieved that Ms. Murphy is finally behind bars.”
“He hasn’t been able to sleep, work or enjoy life in any way, for more than a week. He was having a hard time thinking clearly and was nearing depression, it was about time the harassment ceased. Now all we want is for Ms. Murphy to get the medical help she needs, and for the law to keep her away from my client.” he added.
Most experts presume that when she appears in state court tomorrow, that the judge will order a psychological evaluation to determine whether she is fit and capable of standing trial.
